20 years of Haitian Inequality

When I began this assignment is seemed fairly innocuous: look at key country-wide data and graph the results. Population goes up, health services go down, etc etc etc. However, as my stats teacher is fond of saying, measurement is black hole: easy to become obsessed with measuring more and more things. I generated a lot of these graphs using the website Verifiable, which helped. I’m starting to get more and more interested in data visualization: it’s just another way of telling a story, and making data more accessible to people without PhD’s in Statistics. Let me be clear: these are very basic visualizations. Next steps:

• Using STATA to generate regressions of these variables
• Learn Mathematica!!!
